Gomer’s Problems, Hosea’s Love:
- Read Hosea 3:1-5
- - Gomer did the role of a prostitute, leaving her husband Hosea & sleeping with other men
- - Things got bad enough that in order to get her back Hosea would have to pay money (like bail, perhaps?)
- - God tells Hosea to go & use his hard earned money to buy Gomer back (even though she doesn't deserve it!)
- Answer:
- - What did Gomer’s actions represent? Israel! Her unfaithfulness toward God, leaving him over and over again to follow other gods
- - - We do the same thing today, but instead of it being obvious 'false gods' that we follow, we make the following types of things our gods: ourselves (power, greediness, selfishness), our phones, our friends, our games, our books, our clothes, our money
- - What did Hosea’s actions represent? God & His continued love to Israel
