Ahaziah’s Ending: 2K 1:2-4
- Ahaziah is injured and seeks help from ‘Baal-Zebub’
- - 'Baal-Zebub' means ‘Lord of the Flies’
- - This was likely an insulting nick name used by the author for the false god known as 'Baal-Zebul', which meant 'Lord Prince'
- Elijah intercepts Ahaziah's messengers & shares God’s Word with them...
- - His dependence on other gods will lead to his death!
- Ahaziah sends 3 groups of 50 to Elijah after this to talk one-on-one with Elijah
- - The first two groups of 50 are killed by fire from heaven when they try to take Elijah
- - The 3rd group has a leader that humbles himself before Elijah
- - - Elijah goes will them
- - Nevertheless, Elijah confirms to Ahaziah that his fate is sealed.
- 2K 1:17: Ahaziah indeed dies, without even having a son
