- - What, specifically, shapes somebody’s view of the world?
- - What, specifically, shaped your view of the world?
- - How do we change/grow in our views?

Video: reView: Worldviews TS: Student Manual, Page 19.
- 1) Who has a worldview?
- - Everyone!  It is part of being human.
- - For some reason, every person tries to make sense of the world.  We are concerned about relationships, moral questions, our future, our past, etc... It is how we have been made by God.
- - - Interestingly, animals don't seem to concern themselves about these things!
- 2) What are the two roles of a worldview?
- - An explanation/interpretation of the world
- - The application of this explanation/interpretation to your life
- 3) How did Dr. Brown define the two roles?
- - Explanation: View of the world
- - Application: View for the world
- 4) Someone once said, “Find a worldview that fits you and then live it passionately.” What is wrong with this statement?
- - The issue is not to find a worldview that fits you, but to find one that fits the world
- - In other words, we want to find truth, not just find ideas that sound or feel good.
- 5) What’s the difference between the role of an artist and an architect?
- -An artist helps us understand what is happening through his/her paintings
- - An architect helps us know how to behave because we see the blueprints.

Christian Worldview Connection & Response: Study Packet, Page 3
- Spiritual Battles often take place in our…
- - Minds
- - - 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, “For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ” (ESV)
- - Therefore, we must be careful which ideas we believe!

The Importance of Theology:
- - The foundation of anybody's worldview is their theology
- - There are three major theology groups:
- - - Pantheism: Sometimes called 'Transcendentalism'
- - - - Sees everything as ultimately spiritual
- - - - Examples: Transcendentalism, New Age, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc…
- - - Theism:
- - - - Sees the physical world as made by a spiritual God
- - - - Examples: Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc…
- - - - - When we reference this term this year, our focus will mainly be on Christianity
- - - Atheism: Sometimes called 'Naturalism'
- - - - Sees everything as physical
- - - - Ex.: Naturalism, Materialism, Humanism, etc…

A Christian Worldview:
- If one God made everything, His ideas are right
- - If we have His ideas, we will have His worldview
- - If the Bible teaches God’s ideas & then we can get a correct worldview by knowing the Bible!
- What you believe about God nurtures how you think about everything else in life
- - A biblical worldview affects all areas of life!
- In John 14:6, Jesus claimed,“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”
- - He claims to be the way to live our life & the way to find God (nick-named 'Father' here)
- - He claims to be the truth, the one with the right ideas that we should believe & live by
- - He claims to be the life, offering us true life as it was meant to be
- - So, what is the way & truth of Jesus? We will study this more later, but for now…
