Instructional Time: Unit 1 - Introducing Worldviews

Unit 1 Test Review: Introducing Worldviews
- Below are notes from our in-class discussion today.
- In class we played 'Jeopardy, This means that on the notes below, the questions come after the answers.
- Use these as an extra help to your personal study guide to study for tomorrow's test.

Parts of a Worldview 1:
1. What is History?
The study of the reason and meaning of the past.
2. What is Theology?
The study of God & how we can know Him.
3. What is Ethics?
The study of how we should behave & why we should behave that way.
4. What is Economics?
The study of how we should use our resources.
5. What is Psychology?
The study of the internal nature of humans.

Parts of a Worldview 2:
1. What is Law?
The study of the basis for legal codes.
2. What is Biology?
The study of the origin and order of life.
3. What is Politics?
The study of the purpose of governments.
4. What is Philosophy?
The study of truth and how do we can know it.
5. What is Sociology?
The study of what makes a healthy society.

About Worldviews & Ideas 1:
1. Who has a worldview?
Everyone has one.
2. How does our culture affect us?
It affects all that we see & it inescapably surrounds & influences us.
3. How can we actively change our world view? 
We can do this by thoughtfully considering & testing what ideas we will accept for our worldview
4. What is your worldview a view of? 
It is what you think the world *is* and *should be* like.
5. Why should you choose a worldview that best fits the truth?
Because this is the best & most accurate worldview to choose.

About Worldviews & Ideas 2:
1. What does a bad idea usually result in? (Also know: good idea usually result in good consequence)
It usually results in a bad consequence.
2. What are transcendentalism, theism, & naturalism?
These are the three major worldview groups.
3. What are the four ultimate questions?
They are (1) Where did everything come from? (2) Is there a meaning of life? If so, what?
(3) What is right and wrong? And how do we know? (4) What happens when we die?
4. What are origins, meaning, morals, & destiny?
These are the categories for the 'Ultimate Questions' of life.
5. What is your worldview the basis of?
It is the basis of what you do, think, & feel.

Random Extras:
1. What is popular culture?
This is the collection of values, beliefs, ideas, & behavior popularized mainly through media & technology.
2. What are some examples of popular culture?
Some examples are TV, Movies, Music, the Internet, & Books.
3. What are God, Self, Others, & Creation?
These are the four major things that we have relationships with.
4. Where is the battle of 2 Cor. 10:3-5 fought?
It is fought in our minds!
5. What are Creation, Fall, Redemption, & Restoration? 
These are the correct order of the four-step progression that shows the Bible's 'Big Picture.'
