What does our final restoration & glorification look like?
- Revelation 21’s Qualities of Heaven:
- - 1-3)
- - - We are in the presence of God!
- - - We will be His people & He our God!

- - - All of life’s problems & stresses are gone!
- - - No more tears or pain!
- - - Everything is made new
- - 6-7)
- - - We drink from spring of water of life
- - - We are heirs of all God has!
- - 8) No fear, evil, abuse, lies, harm, etc…!
- - 9-14) Incredible brilliance & beauty of God & His people
- - 15-21) A bejeweled city w/every precious stone. Giant pearls, & Gold-paved streets is used to describe God’s people

- - - There is no temple because God is always fully present!
- - - God’s glory lights city!

- Revelation 22’s Qualities of Heaven:

What about hell?
- A lot of different images may come to mind for this: Fire, Smoke, Aweful smells, Eternal punishment, Crying, Sickness, Suffering, Grinding Teeth, Misery, Pain, Prison Bars, No Escape, Wickedness, Unquenchable thirst, Darkness, Gloom, Torment, etc…
Here are some of the words the Bible uses for hell:
- - Sheol: OT Word (Psalm 6:5)
- - - An unseen, underworld place, the grave, or pit
- - - Pictured as dark, gloomy, & horrible
- - Hades: NT Greek word for Hell
- - - The unseen world, place of the dead
- - - Pictured as a prison w/gates, locks, & bars
- - Gehenna: NT Greek word for a place of torment
- - - Valley south of Jerusalem, a dump for trash, dead animals, & criminals, continual fires burning to incinerate
- - - Pictured as eternal torment, everlasting destruction
- - Tartarus: NT Greek word (2 Peter 2:4)
- - - Place designed for disobedient angels
- - - Pictured as a place of judgment for higher beings
